Professional Medical Representative
Job Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, goal-driven and passionate Professional Medical Representative who will be responsible for promoting and selling of pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, including doctors, pharmacist, drugstores and local key accounts. This is a field-based job requiring field work to build relationships with target HCPs, solicit opinions, provide product information and achieving sales target to drive business growth.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regularly visits physician, drugstores, key hospitals and other key accounts in assigned territory and details and promotes the products;
- Educates healthcare professionals on the benefits , indications and proper usage of the company products;
- Implements approved Marketing activities;
- Organizes and participates in medical conferences, seminars and other promotional events;
- Manages territory business by securing availability of stocks in trade outlets by coordinating regularly with distributor (Oxford) counterparts, being knowledgeable of competitive information/strategies, profiling MD prescribers and trade accounts, keeping accurate and up-to-date records and preparing administrative reports.
- Ensure that all activities, transactions and dealings with third party for the pursuit of business interest are within prescribed company policies and government regulations.
- Ensures timely submission oof sales reports and forecast to managements;
- Maintains and handles company assets in a manner that prevents loss or damage resulting to costly repair or replacement.
- Maintains accurate records of sales visits, transactions and customer interactions through the CRM
- Ensures ethical and professional conduct in all interactions with clients and stakeholders;

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of any 4 years Business Course, Medical Allied Courses
- At least 6 months work experience gained in a Pharmaceutical Company
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills;
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and capable of working independently;
- Willing to travel and work in assigned territories;
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint);
- Valid Driver’s License (not mandatory)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develops and executes marketing strategies aligned with company objectives, market dynamics, and healthcare needs in the Philippines.
- Team development and coaching – Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing marketing team – hire and fire, crafting subordinates’ individual development plan with follow through coaching sessions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ethical, and customer-centric approach (internal and external).
- Define KPIs and ensure marketing contributes to revenue and profit growth.
- Automation initiative – to drive department efficiency and accountability.
2. Brand & Positioning
- Strengthen brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Oversee all aspects of marketing operations, including campaign planning, execution and analysis.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs and competitive positioning.
- Oversee and build PR/partnerships that include but not limited to healthcare organizations, key opinion leaders, patient support groups, hospitals, distributor and sub-distributors, etc.
- Leverages digital and omnichannel engagement strategies responsibly.
3. Analytics & Performance
- Forecasting accuracy and risk management through data mining and analysis.
- Track KPIs (engagement & conversion rates, ROI, excellence, etc) and adjust strategies based on data.
- Monitor and optimize campaign performance using analytics tools (eg. CRM).
- Conduct A/B testing and implement data-driven improvements.
- Present performance reports to stakeholders.
4. Marketing Execution & Investment Management
- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing plans.
- Develop marketing strategies and programs within agreed budgets, including:
- Brand positioning and communication strategy
- Advertising and creative development and potentially expand to media strategy
- Research and insight programs
- Manage budgets and allocate resources (human capital and A&P budget) efficiently and effectively deployment in support of company’s short- and long-term growth objectives.
- Monitor product costs, margins and profitability, and identify opportunities for optimization and product/channel-mix improvement.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment
- Work closely with the following departments:
- Sales & SFE: Align to achieve shared commercial and patients care goals.
- RA/QA: Marketing collateral, product pipelining, and compliance.
- Finance & Operations: Budget utilization & ROI tracking, and supply chain management.
- HQ BD: Pipeline sourcing & registration.
- External agencies and partners.
- Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, healthcare organizations and influencers.
6. Ethical and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with Philippines regulations, such as FDA, DOH, and PCP (Philippine College of Physicians) guidelines and company’s policies.
- Promotes ethical promotion and responsible engagement with healthcare professionals.
- Oversee the approval process of promotional content through legal and/or regulatory review.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Admin, science or related field. MBA is an added advantage.
- Experience:
- 10 years in pharmaceutical sales and marketing role, OTC and digital marketing experience are added advantages.
- 5-years of people leadership experience, with minimum 2 years leading marketing department.
- Excellent track record in meeting revenue and margin growth and new product launching.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Knowledgeable in marketing processes – brand plans, product life cycle and pipeline management, programs development, material creation, etc.
- Knowledgeable in selling processes – negotiation skills, selling skills, sales analysis, customer adoption process, etc.
- Proficient in financial literacy in forecasting, budgeting, margins analysis & risk management.
- Analytical mindset and attention to details to interpret data, market reports and processes.
- Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other automation platforms.
- Strong understanding of CRM (salesforce) and marketing tech stacks.
- Ethical and OTC marketing.
- Proficiency in digital marketing (SEO, PPC, social media, email) and AI.
